Rob Sollis - Fishacre Pottery, Devon
Glaze fired, smoke worked RAKU Pottery with a totally unique C14th origin technique. This is a hard thrown RAKU Pottery, glaze fired to approximately 900-1000 °C. At this temperature the glaze melts. The pots are taken from the kiln and placed in sawdust which combusts instantly. The body of the clay blackens and the glaze, cooling rapidly, crazes, allowing the smoke to penetrate the body. A wide range of bowls, vases, lamps, cones and candle sticks is always available.
